WHAT IS SUPEROXIDE DISMUTASE (SOD)?
Free radicals, produced naturally in our bodies when exposed to harmful environmental toxins like cigarette smoke, pollution, household chemicals, and processed foods, can damage our cells through oxidative stress.
One such free radical, Superoxide, is countered by the enzyme Superoxide Dismutase (SOD), produced by our bodies to minimize this damage.
Our formula contains the minerals manganese, zinc and copper, which contribute to the protection of cells from oxidative stress and act as precursors to the SOD variations.
High levels of the superoxide radical can disrupt the production of glutathione, which is often referred to as the body’s “master antioxidant”. For this reason, we have incorporated (reduced) l-glutathione in our formulation.
